However, something new that came up as of recently really deserves a special article on this blog. What is it, you may say. Well, as you may know, Microsoft released the new version of Windows recently and this version is now available worldwide, and there are a few things to get excited about. In this post, I’ll take you through the top features in Windows 11 that I think everyone should be excited about.
All-new Start menu
The Start menu is back and it’s better than ever. The taskbar has been completely flattened but it still provides quick access to your favourite programs, files, and settings in an easy-to-use design that makes sense. And if you want to customize it further using taskbar pins or context menus from within apps, or even pinning folders instead, you can do that too!
With Windows 11 being more efficient than ever before, this flexibility will also help keep things running smoothly for years to come.
A smarter Action Center
Windows 11 has a new Action Center that’s smarter and more powerful.
New notifications and alerts are prioritized based on what you care about most, so you can see the most important things first. Also, you can take quick actions right from your notification area to respond quickly to important messages, like replying “I’m running late” while driving or making dinner.
More powerful notifications
Notifications in Windows 11 are better than ever. For example, you can now reply to notifications and snooze them, so they reappear at a later time. You can also share notifications with other users and set up time limits for when you’re most likely to receive them. Plus, if you really don’t want any distractions from your work or playtime, there’s an optional Do Not Disturb mode for times when it’s important that nothing gets through (unless it’s an emergency).
New ways to organize notes
Notepad is a simple text editor that comes with Windows. It’s great for writing notes and other simple documents, and Microsoft has made some improvements to it in Windows 11. Now you can organize your notes into folders, and sort them based on keyword, date created, size of the document, color of the background (for example: white or black), or category (such as “school” or “work”). There are also tags that let you categorize your documents even further by adding special characters to the beginning or end of each word.
DirectAccess and DNS Server Policies
DirectAccess is a feature of Windows that allows you to remotely connect to your corporate network. When a user with DirectAccess enabled on their computer connects to the Internet, they are automatically connected to their corporate network through an encrypted tunnel over the Internet. This means that users can access resources and applications available on the corporate network without having to connect directly through VPN or site-to-site tunnels.
